Everything we see and most everything we do in life revolves around dreams of making money and having a safe and secure place to live. Security and safety, however, are only an illusion for nothing is permanent here on earth. In the twinkling of an eye, all the money in the world can vanish in a second.

Jesus told his disciples not to worry about tomorrow because he knew that worry is a constant when it comes to any lasting physical safety in this world. He gave a promise to everyone to seek His kingdom first and everything will take care of itself. (I am Your Safe Place)

Jesus understood the reason we persist in worrying is that we are seeking after things that have no capacity to give us security in this life. Jesus said don’t worry about tomorrow because today has enough trouble in itself.  By faith, we exchange the illusion of safety in the physical realm with the security of the spiritual realm which is eternal. Everything around us is passing away, and only that which is eternal will last.

Our security is spiritual, not physical. The resurrected Christ’s presence is our security for today and forever.

Scripture: Mathew 6:33-36 NIV

Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?  Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
